When most people think about World War 2, they think about air raids, bombings, and the battles that went on day and night. What most people don't know are the personal stories that happened behind the battles of World War 2. Most people also don't know that the majority of people who worked during the war, for the war, were women. The story we're about the share with you is about a woman named Alice Malenowski, who worked in an Evacuation Hospital during the time of the War. Although unsure at first, she eventually found that she loved her work, she formed friendships that would last forever, took on many responsibilites, and got the oppurtunity to travel.

At first, Alice didn't like the idea of working in the Hospitals, and being involved in the war. She didn't want to become attached to any more of the Soldiers, because that had happened before, and the soldiers ended up dying. Alice was heartbroken. Once Alice started working, she decided she really liked the work. She loved experienceing the joy of saving a life.

Not only was Alice working with soldiers; Alice was working in the Evacuation Hospital with a whole crew of women, and some men. Even after the war was over, she kept in touch with the friends she had met during the war.

Working in the hospitals wasn't always fun, though. Alice had a lot of responsibilities while working in the hospital. They ranged from checking in the soldiers that just came in, to shaving the soldiers heads before they left. She never really had a favorite job while working there, she liked doing everything just the same.

Being in a hospital meant that there was a lot of traveling. Alice liked the idea of not knowing from a day to day basis where she was going to be, or what she was going to be doing. It was all a great adventure.

Overall, Alice enjoyed her work in the war.It was a rewarding experience that changed her life forever. Alice will be able to tell her stories of her efforts for years to come.
